Worship @ Masjid Annoor

Since masjid Annoor first opened its doors to the public in December 2005, we have had the honour, by the grace of Allah (all praise is due to Him, The Most High), of witnessing over 30 shahadahs (declarations of faith) as both men and women of the community have come to us wanting to know learn about Islam, alhamdulillah.

Worship is the central feature in Islam. It has been ordained in all the divine scriptures. Annoor places special emphasis on the spiritual training and growth of its members. It seeks to provide the finest and most conducive environment so that members would be enabled and even encouraged to worship. Masjid Annoor is open to the public for all five prayers. We offer Friday (Jummah) prayers as well as the Eid prayers.

The obligatory Friday sermons are held weekly, before the congrational prayer, to provide spiritual answers to every day needs and are held in both Arabic and English. Adequate facilities are provided for women to meet and worship and we have installed viewing monitors to enable them to be able to see the sermons and classes from the ladies section. Non-Muslims interested in Islam are cordially welcome to attend.

Education @ Masjid Annoor

Our educational programmes are centered around the spiritual, intellectual, theological and cultural needs of the community.

With the refurbishment and conversion of our premises Annoor would provide appropriate library facilities and a small reading room. The library will make available suitable and authentic reading material for non-Muslims, new Muslims as well as practicing Muslims. The library will have adequate references in English, Arabic, Somali, Urdu amongst other ethnic languages.

Regular classes will be offered for both adults and children in Quranic memorisation, sirah (life of the Prophet), Islamic history and belief matters at the trustworthy hands of learned and qualified teachers. Occasional courses would be conducted to improve language skills as well as understanding of Islam. Special classes on the fundamentals of Islam will be conducted for new Muslims also.
